The Atauchi Project aims to make changes on a global scale through the small but incremental efforts of many people. Started in 2004, the Atauchi Project continues to make a difference by providing support to programs in developing countries. El Naturalista donates 10 Euro cents from every pair of shoes and sandals sold. This all adds up and has been used to fund educational programs and facilities for needy children in Peru and Tanzania.

Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers.
People Tree is one Fair Trade brand which aims to support producer partners' efforts toward economic independence and improvement of their social position in an environmentally sustainable manner. TATAMI is collaborating with People Tree in the development of sandals to support these efforts.

You may already know that there is a movement underway to have Mount Fuji recognized as a World Heritage site. Unfortunately, the sad reality is that Mount Fuji is littered with trash. Over the years so many people have just dumped their trash and even industrial waste, including old tyres, car batteries and worse, in the forests surrounding the mountain, much to the surprise and disappointment of the UNESCO members that came to have a look. Who would do such things? Unmistakably the only answer is “ourselves, the people of this nation”. We all have a responsibility to keep our beloved Mount Fuji clean and to clean up the mess we ourselves have made over the years.
Seed Corporation is a proud supporter of mountaineer Noguchi Ken and his organized Mount Fuji Cleanup Day tours to the mountain. Hopefully these efforts will lead to a greater environmental awareness amongst the public.
